Dr. Grant continues to type commands into the control panel. The hum of the time machine grows louder.

DR. ALEXANDER GRANT (to himself) Just a few more adjustments, and it's ready.

Suddenly, the laboratory door slams shut on its own, and a gust of wind sweeps through the room, extinguishing the lights. The time machine's lights intensify, casting an eerie glow.

EXT. TIME MACHINE - CONTINUOUS

The tarp is blown away by the wind, revealing the time machine in all its glory. It begins to activate, with lights flashing, and the machine makes a series of mechanical noises.

Dr. Grant, now realizing he's not alone in the room, turns to see an UNKNOWN FIGURE (30s), dressed in futuristic attire, standing in the shadows.

Dr. Grant's face reflects shock and intrigue.
