Indus Valley civilization

 The Indus Valley Civilization was a Bronze Age civilization that existed in the northwestern regions of South Asia from 3300 BCE to 1300 BCE 1. It was one of the most widespread and influential civilizations of the Near East and South Asia, along with Egypt and Mesopotamia 1. The civilization spanned an area from Pakistan to India and had urban centers such as Harappa, Mohenjo-daro, and Dholavira 1.

The civilization is known for its urban planning, baked brick houses, elaborate drainage systems, water supply systems, clusters of large non-residential buildings, and techniques of handicraft and metallurgy 1. The cities of the ancient Indus were noted for their well-planned streets, public and private baths, granaries, drainage systems, and water supply systems 1. The civilization was also known for its standardized weights and measures, seal carving, and metallurgy with copper, bronze, lead, and tin 2.
